Seat Top Weaving Kit
The Seat Top Weaving Kit introduces traditional flat weaving techniques used in stool and chair seat construction. Measuring approximately 8.5” x 8.5”, this project provides a hands-on opportunity to learn pattern layout, tension control, and consistent weaving.
Kit includes:
- Wooden seat frame pieces
- Weaving material
- Complete step-by-step directions
This project is well-suited for troop and patrol activities, group workshops, camp programs, and family craft nights. It offers a different basketry experience than round or square baskets and works especially well as a follow-up project for those who have already completed basic basket weaving.
The finished seat top can be used as part of a camp stool or similar project, making it a practical option when a simple, skill-focused weaving activity is desired.
This weaving project may be used to support Basketry Merit Badge requirement 3.
