LDS Duty to God Items

The LDS Church had been a partner with the Boy Scouts of America since 1913.  Duty to God was their highest youngmen award.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints started a religious scouting recognition program in 1948 with the introduction of the Deseret Recognition Award.  It was originally issued as a lapel pin.  Shortly thereafter a medal was created as the award.  In 1952 the name was changed to the Duty to God Award and the design of the medal changed to the current style.  The details of the medal have changed over the years.  In the year 2000 the medal was discontinued and replaced with a coin.  The program was totally abandoned in 2018.
