Strive to be the best you can be.  That is the mantra of Scout units who earn the Honor or Quality Unit awards.

The recognition of exceptional Scouting units started in the 1950s.  Back in 1974, the first patch for uniform wear was issued.  It was called the National President's Award.  In 1978 the name was changed to Honor Unit.  In 1986 it was changed again to the Quality Unit.  in 2008 the program changed to the Centennial Quality Unit and in 2011 it changed to the Journey to Excellence program.  This is a fun area to collect or a good place to find the patch you earned.  Buy it today!
